St Vincent’s Health & Aged Care (SVHAC) is a catholic provider of acute and aged care services throughout the eastern seaboard of Australia. It provides an environment underpinned by it’s Mission and Values. Lille Healthcare had the opportunity to assess the continence management efficiency of the group in terms of its optimum use of continence aids, clinical practices, educational needs and overall cost savings.
An evaluation was conducted, observations and recommendations were presented, and as a result Lille was successfully rewarded this business.

Part of Lille Healthcare’s ongoing maintenance to SVHAC has been to:
• Constantly monitor pad usage
• Conduct ongoing education
• Improve cost efficiencies
• Maintain resident dignity and comfort.

Continence management meetings have also played an integral role in identifying any issues or any unwanted increases in pad usages, which are quickly rectified by education programs and focusing on the appropriate use of continence aids.

SVHAC has been directly supported by fully qualified Clinical Nurse Advisors – Continence and Product Specialists. Lille constantly delivers ongoing education and support, ensuring there is an overall understanding of the continence management system. Lille continues to enjoy an ongoing business partnership with SVHAC.

• Manages resident daily pad requirements
• Facilitates efficient stock management
• Generates suggested orders based on pre-determined stock levels and order timing
• Provides management reporting such as:
  - cost per resident per day
  - cost comparison against the benchmark cost per resident across facilities and wards
• Places orders direct with Lille or a nominated distributor
